Bemus Point Central School District

August 6, 2020

Dear Bemus Point Central School District Community,
I hope this letter finds you well, and you are able to enjoy some important family time as we navigate through the various stages of the pandemic. As you have likely heard, how schools open for the upcoming year has been the topic of discussion recently among politicians, health experts and the media. Here in our District, our goal remains the same. We are working toward a safe and equitable return to school for all of our students. During this time, just as when we are not dealing with a pandemic, the safety of students and staff is our first priority.
With that goal as our guiding principle, this past month, committees regionally and locally have been working diligently to craft a reopening plan that works for Bemus Point Elementary School and Maple Grove Jr/Sr. High School. The committees are utilizing New York State and federal guidance as it continues to evolve. Therefore, our plans are not finalized and will likely continue to be revised throughout the summer. I am sharing our current draft with you in the hope that it might provide you with the important information you as parents need. We would welcome your feedback, suggestions and any questions that may arise as you read the plan. Please feel free to email me at .
More information will be forthcoming in the coming weeks. Please be sure to visit the website often for weekly updates. I very much appreciate the patience and understanding you have extended the District as we continue the critical planning for our students' return.

With respect, Michelle A. Spasiano Interim Superintendent  Narrative Reopening Plan Draft
