Superintendent

District Superintendent
Mrs. Michelle Spasiano

Dear Bemus Point Central School District Community,

I hope this finds everyone safe and well during this challenging time. I would like to take the
opportunity to let you know how honored I am to be your Interim Superintendent, if only for a short time. I have always admired Bemus Point Central School District. The tradition of
excellence that exists here is because of the wonderful people of the community, and the hard work and high expectations of all of the students, faculty, staff, administration, and Board of Education.

Let me tell you a little about myself and my family. I am a wife, mother, and nana. My husband John and I have a wonderful son, Gabriel who is married to our beautiful daughter-in-law Kimberly. We have two amazing grandchildren, Gabriel who is 11, and Ava who is 8. I am indeed fortunate to have such a close and loving family.

As an educator, I began my career as an elementary and middle school teacher and loved every minute of it. I was encouraged to become an administrator, and have passionately served as an assistant principal, a principal of both elementary and high school, and an assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction. It was a privilege to serve as a superintendent for nine years before retiring in 2018. Retirement didn’t last long, when last year, I also served as interim Chief Operating Officer for Cattaraugus/Allegany BOCES. I’ve had a rich, rewarding career in education and hope to bring the knowledge gained from those experiences to work with our community.

Surely this is a challenging time, and especially in the world of education. I am committed, and see my role as Interim Superintendent as continuing our high standards of excellence and progress during the time our Board of Education searches for a new superintendent. I look forward to working with everyone as we partner to continue to provide the very best education possible for the students of this district. I have always had an open door policy, and although a bit more challenging now with social distancing, I invite you to reach out to me with questions, concerns, or just to chat. Be well!

With respect, Michelle A. Spasiano,
Interim Superintendent
