Carrie YoheWe are pleased to offer a comprehensive and varied academic program for our students. Our academic programming begins at the Pre-Kindergarten level where we offer two full-day classrooms. Our elementary building houses students in grades Pre-K through Grade 5. Maple Grove Junior/Senior High School is home for students in grades 6-12. Our middle level program serves students in grades 6-8 while our High School program serves students in grades 8-12.

In English Language Arts and Mathematics students in grades Pre-K thru 12 receive a rigorous, common core aligned curriculum which has been vertically aligned from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. For students in grades K-8, this curriculum is delivered within the framework of a well established Response to Intervention (RtI) program. Student progress is closely monitored and appropriate intervention and/or enrichment is targeted directly to student needs.

At the middle level we offer opportunities for students to accelerate in Mathematics and Science, allowing those students to begin earning high school credit for Algebra and Living Environment or Earth Science in their eighth grade year. We are currently working with our staff to implement the opportunity for students to attempt high school credit in Global Studies as well as possible elective offerings in grade eight as well.

At the high school level, in addition to a rigorous core program and electives, we are pleased to offer a robust selection of college credit bearing courses via Advanced Placement and JCC College Connections offerings. We also offer a robust set of elective offerings in the areas of Music, Art, Technology, Business, and Family and Consumer Sciences.

Integration of technology into our academic program has be a point of emphasis for the past several years. As of the 2016-2017 school year, our students in grades 3-12 will included in our 1:1 Chromebook program. The utilization of the Chromebook devices along with Google Apps for Education, has fostered collaboration between students, teachers and parents, increased student engagement, and the supported the development of important digital literacy skills and knowledge for our students.

As we approach the 2016-2017 school year we have identified two areas for expansion of our programming. First, we will be expanding our elementary and middle level Spanish program. Our goal is to offer a comprehensive Spanish program for grades K-12, culminating in a biliteral certification for students who desire to pursue the certification. Our second area for expansion is the implementation of a Computer Science curriculum in grades K-12. We have secured a grant which will provide the professional development and curriculum to enable the district to offer the Exploring Computer Science course to our high school students in the 2016-2017 school year. Plans are to then offer AP Computer Science Principles beginning with the 2017-2018 school year. Programs for our elementary and middle level students will based on curriculum offered by
